Diary of an unidentified World War I soldier, 1917-1919.

The diary describes the activities of a National Guardsman who was mustered into service in August, 1917, landed in France, June, 1918, arrived at the Front, August, 1918, and eventually returned to the U.S. April 1919. Topics include training exercises, voyage to France; the drive to the Front and conditions and action there; trips to Rosnes and Verdun; leisure activities; the Armistice; and reviews. There are frequent comments on the food, billets, weather and lack of sanitation. A poem or song "National Guard Boys" is written in the back of the diary.
